Friendometry is a website for parents to help them find friend connections for their child based on where they live. Friendometry was founded by a Pediatric Neuropsychologist and his lifelong friend. They combined their skillsets to create this mission. Friendometry was created to address the problem of childhood loneliness. Studies have shown that childhood loneliness is on the rise and that children without friends can suffer long-term consequences. This site was designed to fill a gap in efforts to combat childhood loneliness. Research and clinical experience indicate that children that struggle with obtaining friends are at increased risk for sadness and higher levels of depression and anxiety. Having just one friend can protect a child from mood problems and lead to higher levels of self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth. We are providing a service for parents to locate other parents in their geographical area who are wanting friends for their child.

Why are parents using Friendometry?
For various reasons, millions of children have difficulty making friends. Parents are using Friendometry to meet other parents in their area whose children are also having difficulty making friends.
Research is clear that children need more than “online” friends and having “in person” friendships improve child development.
It is very acceptable, and it is common that adults are finding relationships online. It is time to extend the benefits to children and use technology to its’ fullest to combat childhood loneliness.
What kind of people are on Friendometry?
